Oh, and other than "because i've wasted so much time and now i feel like a sucker".
That's because my version is more fair. Why would all characters in GW2 get the opportunity to display GWAMM if you achieved it in only one GW1 character? A better title for GW2 characters should be 'Descendent of GWAMM", and that is applicable for all GW2 characters. But GWAMM is simply wrong to be displayed on ALL GW2 characters. You can argue all you want, but watering down GWAMM by mapping one GWAMM in GW1 to infinite GWAMMs in GW2 is simply wrong.

If GW ever was "work" to you then I suggest you leave this game and its future instalments forever. Obviously it's not healthy for your mental health.
GW was hardly work for me, I played GW1 for fun mainly betwen work and studies. And who are you to judge what kind of real life I have? If you had known me better, you would not be making those bland statements. Believe me, it's not hard to be successful in everything you do, whether in RL or in game, as long as you are focused and determined. Again, you might not understand this because you never took anything seriously.

Again this is YOUR opinion, it's not a fact.

Agreed. It's gonna be a push for me to invest the time now just to get the remaining 8 points to 30, and I've been playing for years. Maybe it is easy, I don't know, I haven't adopted any of the cookie-cutter meta builds people are using these days to speedclear HM or anything, I just play as I like. And I wouldn't call myself a "casual" gamer by any means! But it still requires a lot of TIME and non-enjoyable GRIND. Not everyone has the patience for that. Certainly, I don't, and I gladly give props to everyone who does and will get the titles in GW2 to indicate this.

I don't really understand the uproar over how many of your characters in GW2 get GWAMM or whatever. Is this not just nitpicking? There's gonna be a whole bushel of new GW2 content when the game finally comes out, and chances are by that point that nobody will give a damn about some silly cosmetic achievements carried over from GW1.

On the HOM as it stands, I'm really very impressed with how the rewards calculator has been set up and I love how it's now helped me set some goals, when before I was kind of meh over how much more content I wanted to complete. And of course, it makes me all the more excited for GW2 <3

This is also how I feel about this. While GWAMM is a pretty big deal in GW1 (okay not really, but it is the most prestigious title there is), it will not mean the same thing in GW2. When you see a GWAMM in GW2, you will know that person dedicated a lot of effort to title hunting on GW1. That's all.

It's a memento for you, the player, and it really doesn't matter just how many you have of it. You have it.

While many things about HoM were iffy, anyone who thought that the ultra rare minis would matter as much for HoM as they do on the marker really doesn't have a good feeling for what Anet is all about.

Alas, this is the conundrum of many MMOs: people don't want to part with their achievements ingame.
Loosen up, let go and forget. Why would you want anet to implement every little thing so you can have the exact same gaming experience? Why would you want tens of titles and more things implemented that aren't even relevant anymore? Is it so you can brag about them? Is it so you can remenisce about GW1?

Why do you want every achievement and reward in a nigh six-year-old game to carry over to a wholly different one?

No need for petty insults, just because someone don't share your opinion it doesn't have to mean there's something wrong with them - but whatever, keep the insults coming and I'm sure you will be dealt with.

They have to please the grinders who've been propping this game up for the last few years.

Personally, I prefer a game to be driven by content and interaction between players rather than titles or "achievements." In that sense, the HoM monument was a step in the wrong direction. However, who can argue with the fact that GW has seen its highest jump in online players and prices since WiK content was released. The Guild Wars recession is temporarily over.

Ah yes, "grinders", as in not the people who played this game for fun I presume. Face it dog, those grinders don't make up the majority of the game. And even within the group of grinders only a minority will have the rewards mage wants implemented.

Never gonna happen, enjoy your brand new game with only a few throwbacks or just don't buy it, adhere to misplaced principles and miss out on a great game

But hey, at least you'll still have your miniatures.

In game yes, most people posting here are of the more dedicated type so we might see a lot of people complaining here and it will not reflect how the average player feels.

I still think HoMs tuned up like that should be rewarded better, than the players' who fit the minimum req for 50/50 pts.
Why would aNet made it available to add more statues, than they provide rewards for? I don't rly understand this...

Only thing I'm taking to GW2 is my name (if it isn't stolen)

Titles, weapons etc are of no great interest to me.

It can't be stolen; names of characters with a HoM are reserved automatically (anet thought about that one, some people are really attached to their name).

Also anet made it possible to get more statues because those statues were the rewards for the titles. Derp.
I don't mind it anyway. GW2 will have much better looking weapons and much more epically sounding titles anyway, why care?

Simple - flexibility.

People can choose to build up their rewards by working at content they enjoy, rather than having to grind for specific things they wouldn't even do/get if they had the choice. Guild Wars has always, bar a few odd choices of campaign mechanics, tried to gear itself towards quality of content over grind. The same seems to be applicable to GW2. The HOM mechanics seem to reflect this.

Those who dedicated limited pets will probably be allowed to use them in GW2.. idk.

But I'm pretty sure most of those who own the pets knew this was gonna be the case.
Don't see a point in this "Haha" thread really:P

At the end of the day the rewards seem purely cosmetic, especially the weapons and armor etc. Armor in game and the weapons in game can probably be modded to create the same damage, when used with the skills anyway.

It's not overly important, it just keeps players playing GW1, something Anet obviously wants.
